Speaking of email, this most convenient communication tool from the early days of the internet, some older friends may recall their experiences using E-Mail back in the day. However, nowadays instant messaging has replaced E-Mail as an essential communication tool, yet in some cases, we still use email, so let's make good use of it✉️
Handling Spam#
Let's recall, what is the most commonly used email service among most people in the country? It's QQ Mail, a completely free email service provided by Tencent, which is linked to your QQ number. Each QQ number has an associated email address, but this email may often receive spam messages, so let's transform it.
Download the QQ Mail App, and when you log into your email, you may find a lot of spam that needs to be cleaned up. Take your time to clean it up; during the process, you can choose to reject emails from specific addresses or mark them as spam. This way, all emails sent from that address will be directed to the spam folder. Once they are in there, they won't pop up and disturb your normal work and entertainment; they will quietly be thrown into the trash, waiting for you to confirm whether they are indeed spam. In many cases, emails in the trash can be deleted directly, thanks to QQ Mail's intelligent interception system, which intercepts many spam emails and sends them to the trash. However, it may also intercept emails you need, so you will have to look for them yourself when necessary.
Multiple Emails#
Use different email services to accomplish different tasks.
I use two commonly used emails: Perfect Mail and QQ Mail, as well as a copy email from NetEase Enterprise Mail. The first two emails are used for regular purposes, while I rarely log into the NetEase email, but it contains a lot of important content. When something is sent to my email, a duplicate email is also sent to my NetEase Enterprise Mail. Since I don't log in often, I don't download the related app, so there won't be any information interference. In case important content is lost, we can check the NetEase Enterprise Mail to retrieve the backup. If I confirm that I no longer need these items, I can clear the contents of the NetEase Enterprise Mail.
Weight Levels#
To promptly receive information from blog comments for review, I need an email that can notify me in a timely manner. Unlike instant messaging, mainstream instant messaging software can easily hide this content. Moreover, as someone who prefers a clean UI, I tend to keep the homepage of instant messaging software tidy, which can lead to accidental deletions and forgetfulness. Therefore, blog comment notifications become the highest priority event for my emails. Using QQ Mail, its app can push notifications immediately, reminding me of new emails. After binding it with instant messaging software, I can also receive message pushes in the instant messaging app. If you forget, no worries; unread messages will show a notification on the desktop icon, telling you to check your email. On the computer, just log into QQ, and once a new email arrives, a popup will display in the lower right corner.
On the other hand, star and issue events in GitHub are my secondary priority events. These events are usually not very important or take a long time to handle even if received, so they don't require excessive attention. Therefore, I use Perfect Mail to receive them, and no other software will push notifications for me; only the software itself provides message push services. However, compared to the lack of push notifications from NetEase Enterprise Mail, I can still know about incoming emails within an acceptable timeframe. Since these are more complicated issues to handle, we may need to check the emails repeatedly, so I use Perfect Mail as my work email. It has good privacy, and I won't receive messages because of my QQ number. Additionally, when providing my email to the outside world, I only share this email with necessary units, creating a good and clean email handling environment within Perfect Mail.
Conclusion#
In addition to these three emails, Google's Gmail is also an excellent email service. Effectively utilizing these email services can significantly enhance productivity and allow one to experience the nostalgia of the early internet.
